It is a great pleasure for our school to be able to have a website under the “Cyber Lowata Piyapath” project implemented by Webcomms in coordination with the Ministry of Education and it is a very rare opportunity for a school. The school website can be described as a very commendable opportunity to show the pride of the school. Creating such a design is a daunting task and requires extensive knowledge.
The Subject Director, Galle Region informed that an opportunity will be created to create school websites with the intervention of Webcom at a time when we are thinking of how to start such a project. The relevant application was completed naming 10 students. Awareness Workshops were started by Webcomms through Zoom Technology and we, as students and ICT teachers, also participated in those workshops.
Initially, training was provided to students and ICT teachers on software required for web design, and soft copies of the training were distributed among the trainees in a well-planned and organized manner. From the outset, it was clear that WebCom was well-planned. I will always be grateful to Webcom for its efforts to make our lives and that of our children more productive without wasting time in the face of the Covid 19 epidemic. After the workshop, students were given the opportunity to create websites individually or in groups. It was also given the opportunity to present at another workshop. As ICT teachers, we were also busy finding information for students, solving technical problems, and preparing students for presentations, and this was a valuable opportunity to update our knowledge of relevant software.
Webcom took on the heavy task of designing websites to suit the school, and little by little the webcom gradually took over the school's visionary program of maintaining and maintaining it by armed students. Personally, I would like to take this opportunity to respectfully recall the humble intervention of our school children in resolving issues arising out of the creation of the web site by contacting the officers of the Webcom Institute. We would like to thank Webcomms on behalf of the school for continuing to work with us for almost 6 months until the launch of the School Website and we hope that they will continue to be with us.
We would like to remind you that the web site creation program implemented by Webcom in coordination with the Ministry of Education is truly a priceless gift like giving wings to the cyber world.
